16j. Cubs

I was never a member of the Cubs or Scouts as a boy, although I often think that I would have enjoyed it, so as my children were growing up, I was determined that they would have this opportunity.  I signed up as a Cub leader in September 1998, and I thoroughly enjoyed it the job, but having had previous experience of being stuck in a voluntary role, I let everyone know from an early stage that I was leaving whenever Laurence left Cubs.  I rose to the rank of Akela, which meant I was leader of the pack, and I left after serving my usual seven years.
